Anyone who has read my blog knows I love reading. But they may not know that I am also an avid knitter!
My latest knitting project was a pair of little newborn socks.
You can find the pattern I used here. It was a super easy pattern and turned out pretty well. I did make the socks shorter than the pattern instructed, because I felt they would end up being too long if I didn’t. If you look at some of the projects and comments for this pattern you will see that other people came to the same conclusion. I made these little socks to go along with a precious little baby bonnet I made a a week or two ago.
What do you think?
And of course this would not be a Yarn Along post, if I did not mention the book I was reading at the same time. It is a lovely book called Friendly Gables by Hilda van Stockum. It is the third book in the Mitchells Series.
I started reading the Mitchells series last month. The first book is called The Mitchells: Five for Victory. It is the story of family of five kids, two parents, a granny, and the story progress a whole menagerie of pets. It takes place in Washington D.C. during World War II and begins with Daddy Mitchell leaving heading off to war.
The second book in the series is called Canadian Summer. The War is over, Daddy is home, but he gets a new job in Montreal, which means the Mitchell family has to move to Canada. If you enjoyed the first book you will certainly enjoy the sequel.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. It was my pleasure to share with you my latest knitting projects, and I always love going on about books I’ve recently read. Let me know what think in the comment section below!
