
Summer Reading Recommendations Part 2: Easy to Read Books

Welcome to part two of the Summer Reading Recommendations post. If you missed the first part, you can read it here.
In this second part I will be recommending several easy to read books.
They vary in difficulty level, so you can look at the examples I include and judge for yourself with ones would work for your child.
I have also included a printable list containing all of the titles I am going to mention, which you can find at the bottom of this post.
The first books on the list are the[popup_anything id=”2123″]by Else Holmelund Minarik.
The books shown are:

- Little Bear’s Friend
- Father Bear Comes Home
- Little Bear and the Marco Polo
That’s just of few of the Little Bear books available.

The[popup_anything id=”2124″]written by Kate DiCamillo and illustrated by Chris van Dusen is next on the list. The Mercy Watson books are just hilarious!

[popup_anything id=”2125″]by Alyssa Satin Capucilli are cute little stories that are very easy to read.

I just love the[popup_anything id=”2126″]by Cynthia Rylant.
The stories are so sweet and entertaining.

Those are just a mere fraction of the Mr. Putter and Tabby

[popup_anything id=”2127″]by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat is another great book series for kids who gaining reading ability, but haven’t quite reached the novel stage yet.

- Nate the Great and the Missing Key
- Nate the Great and the Boring Beach Bag
- Nate the Great Talks Turkey
There are many more titles in the series.

The[popup_anything id=”2128″]by Peggy and Herman Parish are so funny! Poor Amelia Bedelia takes all of her orders so literally, and ends up in trouble.
The books in the picture are:

- Amelia Bedelia and the Baby
- Amelia Bedelia Goes Camping
- Amelia Bedelia Helps Out
- Amelia Bedelia Bakes Off
But, as you might expect, there are so many more than those shown on this short list.

[popup_anything id=”2129″]by Ursula K. Le Guin is a great book series for new readers who just starting to graduate from the easy readers.

[popup_anything id=”2130″]are sweet little books that are easy to read. If you are a fan of the originals than you should read these with your kids.
